Moises Fuentes rode two knockdowns to a sixth round knockout of Oswaldo Novoa in a battle of former strawweight titlists Saturday evening in Los Mochis, Mexico.

The bout began as if Fuentes—who seems right at home at flyweight these days—was on his way to an early night. The 29-year old ex-titlist floored Novoa early in round one, but was forced to work hard the rest of the way trough.

A reprieve came for Novoa, who was dropped from a what was ruled a low blow in round six. Fuentes was docked a point, but only seemed to gain strength through rage over the call; his very next sequence helped put Novoa down and out, face first on the canvas as the referee waived off the count.

The official time was 2:02 of round.
