On one of the most intense nights of British sporting history, before a crowd of 80,000 at London's Wembley, IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch stunned George Groves with a devastating right-hook in the eight round to win the match after the Hammersmith-born challenger was on the ascendency.

Asked what he said to Groves after the fight, Froch said: "I said he's young, he's talented, he's skillful, he'll come again. I told him 'don't go home and be too down and depressed and go in a downward spiral because you're a good fighter. You were in that fight. I punch very hard and I caught you with a shot that finished you off - and that's boxing.'"
