On September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, George Groves will challenge Badou Jack for the WBC super middleweight title. It will be Groves' third opportunity to gain a world championship.

Groves made two competitive attempts to grasp the title away from Carl Froch and was knocked out both fights. Their rematch, last May, drew 80,000 fans to Wembley in London.

Now Groves will once again find himself in the spotlight as the fight with Jack takes place on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Andre Berto Showtime Pay-Per-View undercard.

Froch, who retired a few weeks ago, says his former rival is more than capable of snatching away the world title from Jack and doing it in style.

"I want George to become the WBC super-middleweight champion of the world and I also think he can do it," Froch told Sky Sports. "I love British boxing. I love boxing. It has given me a fantastic life and has been fantastic to me and my family and we need world champions in Britain. Simple as that. To have that WBC super-middleweight title back in Britain would be brilliant, regardless of who's got it. We - and I include me - need that title and titles like that, back. "

"On top of that I think he can do a job on Badou Jack and I think he is good enough - even if I do think he has peaked. I don't want to rain on Groves' parade if he does win but Jack is not the best world champion we've seen and he looks to me like a limited opponent. He got knocked out in the first round by Derek Edwards and could only get a draw with Marco Antonio Periban so let's be honest, he is a limited champion.

"It's all about timing and to have a champion who doesn't appear to be in that top level holding one of the prestigious world title belts like the WBC? Well, Groves is never going to get a better opportunity. I think he can and I hope he will do it."
