Trainer Freddie Roach is not in favor of a catch-weight for a possible super-fight between Mexican superstars Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya is pushing for a catch-weight of 156-pounds, which heavily favors Alvarez - the WBC's champion at 154. Chavez's promoter, Top Rank, have proposed a weight of 156, which is closer to the WBC middleweight champion's fighting weight of 160.

Roach want Alvarez to face Chavez at the full middleweight limit of 160-pounds. He doesn't agree with catch-weights - even though his star fighter Manny Pacquiao has used catch-weights in several of his recent fights.

"I say f**k Alvarez. If he wants to fight for the middleweight title - the weight is 160. I don't like catch-weight fights, even though I've been involved in them before with my fighters, but I'm a purist at heart and I love boxing and I don't think they should have them. That's my opinion," Roach said.
