Frankie Gavin will look to add another win to his ledger when he fights again in less than a month.

The Birmingham man, a former IBF welterweight world title challenger, returned to winning ways on May 13 in his home city, outpointing Frech funny man Renald Garrido.

And he has now decided that he wants to remain active.

Gavin has organised, in conjunction with promotional company Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, an eight-round tick-over fight in just under a fortnight’s time.

He will box over eight rounds at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley, Scotland, as part of a card being promoted by Limond Boxing Promotions, headed by Willie Limond.

‘Fun Time’, who says he will no longer need that nickname as he will take boxing seriously because he is in the last chance saloon, will then be looking to fight again before the end of the year.

Further details will be revealed in due course.

IN OTHER NEWS:  Sammy McNess remained undefeated on Saturday and will now go on to challenge for his first professional title.

The Romford super-welterweight moved to 7-0 with three early at the Copper Box Arena in London, as part of the undercard to Gervonta Davis’ third-round stoppage of Liam Walsh to defend his IBF super-featherweight world title.

McNess outpointed Zaurs Sadihovs over six rounds on the card and it was confirmed shortly after his victory that he will be back in the ring at the same venue on July 8, exclusively live on BT Sport and BoxNation.

He will challenge Reading’s Asinia Byfield for the Southern Area title on the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders’ WBO world middleweight title defence against Avtandil Khurtsidze.

Also on promoter Frank Warren’s next show in the capital, Daniel Dubois will return after dispatching of David Howe inside 40 seconds and Anthony Yarde, after knocking out Chris Hobbs to claim the Southern Area light-heavyweight title, will challenge Richard Baranyi of Hungary for the WBO European crown.

Further additions to the bill will be revealed in due course.

In other news, Sunny Edwards moved to 4-0 in the paid code with a third-round stoppage over Gyula Dodu on Saturday and will now look to build up a head of steam by fighting regularly.

And Darragh Foley, the WBA Oceania champion in the super-lightweight division, will return to the ring on June 23 in Sydney when he challenges WBA Inter-Continental champion Jaider Parra (28-2-1, 17 KOs) for his belt.
