Frank Warren, co-promoter for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, says an announcement for the showdown with IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk is 'imminent'.

Fury's other co-promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, recently stated that Fury vs. Usyk is nearly complete - with the venue being the only remaining issue.

The Middle East is prepared to make a tremendous offer to secure the rights. If the funds fall through, then Fury vs. Usyk could head to Wembley Stadium in the UK.

At the point, Warren expects the fight to happen.

"Both sides want the fight and are up for the fight. We are in a like mind. I don't think we're far off from announcing it. It's basically just a couple of things behind the scenes we're just trying to get sorted. I won't go into it as I don't want to compromise the situation. News is pretty imminent now," Warren told Seconds Out.

As far as the date, April seems to be more likely.

"Yeah, I mean, we have to get it on as soon as possible for obvious reasons," Warren said.

Fury was in action back in December, when he stopped Derek Chisora in a one-sided voluntary defense. A few months earlier, Usyk retained his unified crown with a tough twelve round decision win over Anthony Joshua in their contracted rematch.

Usyk was ringside for Fury's last fight, which took place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In the aftermath, the two boxers went face to face and traded words.
