Frank Warren, the promoter for EBU welterweight champion David Avanesyan, says his boxer is ready and willing to fight undefeated contender Conor Benn.

Benn's level of competition has been climbing in 2021 - with wins against Samuel Vargas, Adrian Granados, and last weekend's destructive knockout of former world champion Chris Algieri.

After the fight, Benn called out a variety of names - like four division champion Adrien Broner and the winner of February's bout between Amir Khan and Kell Brook.

Avanesyan's star power has been rising as well, with destructive wins in his last four ring appearances. And two of the knockouts have come against British fighters who were being pushed to the next level - Josh Kelly and Liam Taylor.

Warren explains that his side of the fence has no problem with sitting down with rival promoter Matchroom to make the fight against Benn.

"Conor Benn called out plenty of opponents after his win against Chris Algieri last weekend but the name not on his lips was David Avanesyan. And you have to wonder why? His team are talking about his progression and taking the next steps to make him a star," Warren told Daily Star.

"Then surely if you’re going to be big on the global stage you should take the right move and fight for the European title? We are ready and waiting to make a deal for the fight between Avanesyan and Benn. It’s the best fight out there for the son of the former world champion that’s for sure. Of course, I believe that Avanesyan would stop Benn’s rise in the welterweight division. But if he is going to be as good as those around him let you believe then surely they shouldn’t shy away from the challenge?"
