Mike Borao, manager of Cuban heavyweight Frank Sanchez (20-0, 13 KOs), hopes his boxer will face the winner of the looming clash between top contenders Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker.

Sanchez is ranked at number 3 by the WBO - while Parker is ranked at 2 and Joyce at 1.

The fight between Joyce and Parker is being targeted for July 2.

Oleksandr Usyk currently holds the WBO strap - and the WBA, IBO, IBF titles. He will face Anthony Joshua in a rematch this summer.

Borao feels the winner of Usyk-Joshua will ultimately vacate the WBO belt - which will lead to Sanchez fighting the Joyce-Parker winner for the vacant strap.

"I really believe that ultimately Frank will fight the winner of Joyce and Parker for a vacant WBO title," Borao told Sky Sports.

"I don't think Joyce or Parker are big enough names to entice the eventual winner of Usyk vs Joshua, so Frank will probably land on the winner of that fight for a first world title."

Sanchez is ranked at 4 by the WBC.

The current champion of the WBC is Tyson Fury, but nobody knows what will happen with the landscape of the WBC strap - as Fury has been discussing the possibility of retiring from the sport.

"Fury is the ultimate salesman," Borao added. "Who knows if Tyson really will retire? Either way, I don't think WBC will jump out and strip him immediately, so I think the Frank question regarding WBC still has time to marinate.

"The WBO route is much more likely for early 2023, in my view. One thing is for sure, Frank Sanchez is well positioned to fight for and win a world title in 2023."
