The international super featherweight champion and world ranked WBO world ranked number one challenger, Francisco "Bandido" Vargas, that his next fight could come against the 130-pound world champion of the World Boxing Council, Takashi Miura of Japan, on a date and location to be determined.

"October and November are the months that are being looked at. We're just missing the date of when we're going for the WBC super featherweight world title with Miura," he said.

Golden Boy Promotions are working out the details. There have been rumors of the fight taking place on the undercard of Miguel Cotto vs. Saul Alvarez, which is expected to take place in Las Vegas.

Golden Boy Promotions is working out the details of the fight, it could be in Las Vegas. I am doing some light training, because I have not yet confirmed the fight, and when we have confirmation I will train harder, planning a strategy and work a game plan."

Vargas has a lot of respect for the quality of Miura (29-2-2, 22 KOs).

"He's a strong fighter. From the southpaw stance, his punch is powerful. The hardest thing about him is his southpaw stance. I've faced three fighters from the stance, and the most recognized of them was Juan Manuel Lopez. We should have the fight in Las Vegas, which is neutral territory.
