Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is going to have several strategies in place for his upcoming pro boxing debut against WBC world champion Tyson Fury.

Ngannou will finally make his boxing dream a reality on October 28, when he collides with Fury in Saudi Arabia.

The MMA veteran is a huge underdog in the contest.

He expects Fury to keep him at a distance and basically play around with him.

The main goal for Ngannou is to pass Fury's jab and make it an inside fight.

“I think he’s gonna try to play me on the distance and maybe drag into the decision. I know a lot of people are just giving me chance if I randomly connect or something, but I’m also working [on every scenario] in case we go to decision," Ngannou told The MMA Hour.

“I will have to break his distance because he’s pretty good on the distance to control his distance and everything. And I will constantly try to break that, that means like, I have to expose myself and get [on the inside]. But it is a tough one and I really want to win this even if he goes to decision.

“I don’t want to give him space to make him feel comfortable. He’s pretty good when he’s comfortable when he’s there relaxing. Oh, he’s pretty good, but let’s see how he’s going to react when you apply pressure. Not just like gonna land some big punch, but keep pushing. That will be my approach.”

Ngannou, who broke away from the UFC when his contract expired last year, is expected to make the biggest payday of his combat sports career. According to reports, he is slated to make around $8 million for the bout - which is more than he's made for all of his UFC fights combined.
