Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov will wait until his hand is raised before celebrating anything about this weekend. For now, the unbeaten Russian junior lightweight contender is the only one eligible to win the IBF title at stake for his clash with Joseph JoJo' Diaz. Revised terms are still being discussed for bout as this goes to publish, in the aftermath of Diaz weighing 133.6 pounds-3.6 pounds over the divisional limit-at Friday's official pre-fight weigh-in ahead of Saturday's show which airs live on DAZN from Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.

Obviously, Rakhimov needs the money more than Diaz, so that puts him in a difficult position. He'll take the 50 000 more, but..it will really pay off only if he wins.

What would happen if they decided not to fight?

Would Rakhimov then have he option of facing the next highest ranking contender for the vacant title?

Hopefully, rakimov's team were able to secure some additional $$$, on top of the 50k, to move forward with the fight providing Diaz is 140 (or less) at today's weigh-in.

Not sure, but I think the title becomes "vacant", but more importantly, nobody gets paid. The governing body then decides who gets to fight for the belt, usually #2 and 3 if available.
