  • Comments Thread For: Trainer Johnathon Banks Gives Golovkin Performance a B+

Gennadiy Golovkin will have to look to another session inside the ring to obtain an A+ mark from his instructor. The hard-punching IBF middleweight titleholder may have looked flawless in dropping outmatched mandatory challenger Kamil Szeremeta four times en route to a seventh-round stoppage last Friday at the Siminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. but apparently it was not enough for his trainer Johnathon Banks to give him a perfect score.

Dam my dumb self didn't even realize GGG trained in Miami for this fight me being a fan of the sport. I guess we'll see out the remainder of that contract if not training in altitude has any affects if he decides to keep on outside of Big Bear

JB is the trainer so he can’t say what I say

This was a real threat and maybe he just wanted some rounds, I can’t say but for me when a fighter is hurt and has nothing to offensively get his a_s outta there! JB trained under Emanuel so he knows; Don’t F around with it, Do it expeditiously!

      I’m just saying

Fair performance but Golovkin of old get him out of there inside 4 rounds. At 39 his time is coming to an end I am hoping for an Andrade or Charlo unification next.

Hopefully Banks is kicking back some money to the Steward family and Kronk he’s made a living milking his association with them

Yes that's how he became the trainer of the great Klitschko Emmaneul Steward was the head trainer and Banks was the assistant but when he passed away (RIP) banks became the head trainer

That's a nasty, uncalled for denigration of a decent, hardworking guy. Steward's Family surely must not be short of anything. They are long grown up, and in well paying positions. If they are not, I can't help them and neither should Banks, unless he wants to.

Steward, a very successful trainer of Champions for close on 40 years, made a fortune, many millions I'm sure, 7-10% of the purses of all his top fighters who were getting 10-15-20 mill a fight. and Steward likely still had all of it when he passed away at almost 70. He also earned a hefty salary for many years as a commentator for HBO. Certainly had a very normal frugal lifestyle. Training and commentating left no time for a high life anyway. Likely left about $20-25 mill-maybe more..

Why do I bother telling you this. I don't, I'm telling others who might be influenced by your derogatory crap.
