  • Comments Thread For: David Morrell Demolishes Mike Gavronski in Three Round Beating

Super Middleweight Champion David O. Morrell Jr. will face Mike Gavronski in the main event of FOX PBC Fight Night and on FOX Deportes Saturday, December 26 from Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. (photos by Sean Michael Ham).

The contract weight is 170-pounds. Contrary to reports, Morrell did NOT give up his interim-WBA super middleweight title - and the contest is scheduled as a ten round non-title encounter.

The broadcast begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and will feature the return of renowned knockout artist James Kirkland dueling hard-hitting Juan Macias Montiel in the 10-round middleweight co-main event while unbeaten young rising star Jesus Ramos battles Naim Nelson in a 10-round super lightweight bout that will kick off the broadcast.

Morrell has had three pro fights and is rated 46th in the world and his opponent is rated 68th in the world. Kirkland is renowned for being washed up. He is fighting another really bad cherry picked fighter in a feeble attempt to make him look like he is still a legit contender and not washed up and done at the top level.

So you still believe in rankings? He fought Allen a couple of months ago, in his third fight, the guy was 20-0-1 and the fight before, his 2nd, a guy 15-6-2. IN a time that young fighters are guarding their "0" like there's no tomorrow. In this polluted environment, the kid is a breath of fresh air.

It would be nice if the kid had made weight.

Not a great card by any means, but im glad to have some boxing on. There’s a few intriguing prospects on the undercard and Morrell is a prospect I’m excited to watch progress thru the ranks also.

Books had that Kirkland fight as a pickem though basically and now he is the slight dog. Should be entertaining at least since someone is def getting knocked out.

I came in here specifically to say Kirkland is probably going to lose tonight

Yeah that's what I'm feeling. I got 20 and change on Montiel by KO at almost 2/1. Closer to even money now so clearly I'm not the only one on it.
