  • Comments Thread For: Fury Promoter: Whyte Lost His Chance, We Don't Need Him

Frank Warren, co-promoter for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, explained that there is zero interest in facing Dillian Whyte on December 5 in the UK. Whyte was scheduled to face Alexander Povetkin in a rematch on November 21. The fight was postponed on Tuesday, after it was revealed that Povetkin had tested positive for COVID-19.

Frank Warren talking like an American promoter, Whyte had what chance? There are no rules about 1 chances. What Warren is really saying is he doesn't want to give any title chances to Hearns stable if he can help it just in case Fury loses and doesn't want to contribute to Hearn fighters Bank balance.

Nothing wrong with Fury v Whyte. Warren is putting the business before the sport like Arum and Haymon.

It was stupid that they put whyte up against povetkin. It was a risky match to begin with especially since whyte was mandatory for the WBC title. Whyte should have just waited for February 2021 for his chance to fight for the WBC belt.

Or whyte should have fought a nobody like fury has been doing so that he would not have had a chance of losing his mandatory position.

i think fury intends to face AJ after facing a string of bums then retire
He has no intention of fighting top contenders

Commercially Whyte vs Fury is possibly the easiest and biggest fight they can make etc

Anthony Joshua is facing Pulev and then Usyk 'I do not see the Fury fight happening next'.

Seriously though what a joke boxing is, Whyte vs Fury is an infinitely better fight than Fury vs Vagit Kagayal, but there is more 'risk' to it. If this was the UFC then those two would be matched 100%
