SAN ANTONIO Gervonta Davis looked relaxed before he stepped on the scale Friday afternoon. Davis and his entire team still collectively breathed a sigh of relief when it read 129.8 pounds. After months of speculation regarding Davis' ability to make weight, the unbeaten Baltimore native officially came in slightly under the contracted maximum of 130 pounds for his 12-round fight against Leo Santa Cruz on Saturday night at Alamodome.

This shows that Davis is serious about his career which means we can expect the best from him. Davis is underrated for his character....he always seems to respect opponents and doesn't act like he has a chip on his shoulder. He's gone through some things in his life. LSC is a good guy. Maybe we'll get a great fight.

Good to see that Davis made the weight.

Disturbing to see that Prograis didn't.

I was confident he’d make weight. The team seemed confident and said he was 134 last week.

          Good to go.

Prograis can be forgiven a bit because his wife is having a baby and the originally scheduled fight was pushed back due to Covid so go a little easy on him.

It's absolutely pathetic that any team celebrates making weight. That should be a given for any fighter
