  • Comments Thread For: Haye Shakes Head at Talk That Povetkin Landed 'Lucky Punch' on Whyte

Former two division champion David Haye is rolling his eyes at some of statements coming from observers who believe Alexander Povetkin knocked out Dillian Whyte with a "lucky punch." Back in August, Povetkin scored a brutal one-punch knockout of Whyte in the fifth round to capture the WBC interim-title.

Hit him with an uppercut though...but we agree it wasn’t a lucky punch at least.

Agreed. And he was setting up that uppercut from the opening bell too. He set a trap that Whyte walked into perfectly.

This. It was a perfect set up, but also silly boxing by DW: it was painfully obvious what Pov was looking for, slip the jab and throw over hand right (kept missin by an inch) or slip the right and throw left hook/uppercut/liver. Povetkin is one of the best HW hookers ever so keep him on the outside and smother him on the inside. I know, easier said than done..

I'm a massive Whyte fan, it was not a lucky punch it was executed perfectly. Whyte might be muy favourite boxer at the moment. No luck was involved the shot was perfection.

ah yes the phantom punch that was 30 years in the making.

Johnny Nelson forced to make an apology because of similar remarks.

Eddie Hearn claiming he moved to get up at 8 and Whyte claimed he wasn't sparked!

Drinking from the goblet of delusion the entire lot of them!

Oscar Rivas and Anthony Joshua, ALSO, landed lucky uppercuts on that overrated Euro-Bum.
