  • Comments Thread For: Guido Vianello's Cut Required 15 Stiches, Will Resume Training in January

Guido Vianello (7-0-1) had the toughest fight of his career last Saturday night when he battled Kingsley Ibeh (5-1-1) to a majority draw that was streamed on ESPN+ on the Jose "Chon" Zepeda-Ivan Baranchyk undercard. The fight took place inside of "The Bubble" at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino where Top Rank has staged all of their fights during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Kinglsey Ibeh beat Guido Vianello, and the corrupt judges stole the fight from him. These criminally bad decisions are ruining the sport of boxing. Boxers like Kinglsey Ibeh work to hard to have these damn judges steal the fight from them. They lose getting paid more money for future fights, because they don't get the credit for a big win on their record. Kinglsey busted Vianello's face with a jab, the cut required 15 stitches to close. Vianello wont be able to fight for 6 or 7 months while his cut heals. Kinglsey will probably have 2 or 3 fights within that time, because he's been fighting on regular basis.

Kingsley slowed down in the last 3 rounds and was very sloppy ,he was also hurt In round 2 or 3 and backed into the ropes in pain so the judges probably counted that . Cuts don’t mean you are losing the fight . It was a draw imop .

It wasn't just the cut, I was just pointing out the damage done by one fighter to another. It's a testament to Guido Vianello's intestinal fortitude that he not only fought with a severe cut, but that he landed some. Kinglsey Ibeh did out box Vianello making him miss many of his punches, and making him pay. Just when it looked at times that Vianello was going to turn the tied, Ibeh would counter attack continuously stinging Vianello. In my opinion the judges rendered a decision that protected Vianello's undefeated record for his continued success in boxing. In so doing they took a legitimate, and deserved win from a competent fighter whom like Vianello will probably never become world champions. That my respectful opinion on this particular fight, bad decisions just don't help the sport, or the fighters irregardless which one it favors, and which one it harms. It is my belief that when a wrongful decision is committed it harms the judges credibility, the undeserved winner's, the undeserved loser's, and ultimately the sport itself.

Fights like this will be more common due to Covid restrictions which effect training camps . Posters better pay attention to what the training camps are like because it’s a big deal and who has been inactive.

I don’t place much on early prospect fights and 6 rounders ,one thing to watch for was Barry yelling at Guido trying to get him in the fight in between rounds ,he looked like he was in a cloud . Hopefully he’s not that type of fighter . It wasn’t a dominant performance either way by either ,they will usually give it to the rising prospects. The body language of Kingsley suggested he was glad it was over at the end also .

No doubt, most fighters are glad when the fight is over, especially heavyweights. Ibeh needs to lose weight 276, almost 277 is just to heavy for someone who is 6' 4''. Vianello was in a cloud, he was confused that Ibeh was beating him to the punch, and making him miss. Barry was yelling at Vianello between rounds, because he knew his fighter was losing the fight. It wasn't a dominant performance by either fighter, but Ibeh outworked him by about 2 or 3 rounds. You may not place much on early prospect fights, and 6 rounders, but I assure you the fighters do. The fighters gage where their careers are, and where their career are going by the outcomes of these fights. If fighters don't think they'll be judged fairly some will quit, others will use the experience as fuel, and work even harder. Marvelous Marvin Hagler said that he brought his judges with him his left, and right fist's. Marvin was from Massachusetts was having trouble getting fights, so he went to Philadelphia where he lost 2 fights he thought he should won. He didn't let many fights go the distance after that, Knocking out most his opponents including both of his previous conquerors.

Ibeh tested positive for Covid then had a false test ? Vianello didn’t looked to enthusiastic and seemed to not engage early maybe that also had something to do with it ? Either way he looked disinterested at the stare down before the bell rang . Some fighters lose early ,even Liston lost his 8th fight .
