  • Comments Thread For: NSAC Extends Temporary Suspensions For Jerry Forrest, Joshafat Ortiz Following Positive Drug Tests

Six boxers who were able to remain active in the ring during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic are no longer afforded that luxury, at least for the time being. Fringe heavyweight contender Jerry Forrest was the most identifiable boxer among those further disciplined by the NSAC during the commission's monthly agenda hearing held Thursday via remote location. The 32-year old from Newport News, Virginia is one of three boxers who saw their current temporary suspensions extended, while three more were forced to literally pay for their sins after previously testing positive for banned substances surrounding fights which took place earlier this summer in Las Vegas.

Article says Forrest was suspended for cannibidiol. It's not like it was performance enhancing drugs lime Miller.

These American governing bodies are a joke - what’s a 9 month ban when most boxers nowadays box no more than 2/3 times a year?

In the UK, a first failed drugs test is an automatic 2 year ban, which is doubled for a repeat offence.

We’ll only see a significant reduction of this problem with tougher sentences like these, which don’t leave wriggle room for BS contamination excuses.

Dude was smoking weed, that is different from what Miller was injecting into himself.
