Barely one full day after his place was secured on the deepest Pay-Per-View card of the year, John Riel Casimero now has an opponent for the occasion. Philippines' Casimero aims to make the first defense of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight title versus Ghana's Duke Micah. The bout will take place as part of a six-fight, split-bill Showtime PPV event presented by Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on September 26, at a location to be determined.

What a coincidence, Michael Conlan who eliminated Duke Micah in the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games is due his first world title shot at another WBO world title, but at 122.

This is a decent first title defense of the WBO 118 champ John Riel Casimero. John Riel has been over-training in America for the last couple months waiting on the COVID global pandemic to clear to take on Naoya Inoue ; Casimero would of probably been spent if he waited any longer -- if that is not the case already.



John Casimero, beat Zolani Tete of South Africa for the WBO bantamweight title, Duke Michah is from Ghana, West Africa. Duke Micah, unlike Tete, has never been KO ; if Micah is in danger of being stopped at Bantam, Casimero is a prime candidate for the job.

This only adds value to the Charlo Bros PPV next month, its going to be lit!
