The opening bout of Showtime's first live boxing event in 141 days managed to deliver a leading candidate for 2020 Knockout of the Year. Unfortunately, it also produced one of the worst official scorecards in a year filled with questionable judging. Saturday's edition of Showtime Championship Boxing featured two rematches, including the first leg of a televised tripleheader. Joe George (11-0, 7KOs) scored a dramatic, come-from-behind 9th round knockout of Marcos Escudero in their light heavyweight sequel live from Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.

George got his ass handed to hi m.j pretty much the entire fight. I watched it twice and cant imagine how anybody had him winning.

George was setting him up the whole fight. Every time George hit Escudero, Escudero reacted poorly. Just like in the first fight. Alot of Escudero punches were landing on Goerge's arms.

Terrible scorecard by the one judge.....I actually thought the referee was going to stop the fight if George didn't start throwing more punches.....Nevertheless, it was a great victory for George.

I had George trailing 7-1 after eight rounds. He wasn't letting his hands go. He landed the sharper blows when he threw punches, but he often laid against the ropes and blocked punches. But he was seldom active. He needed the KO or at lease a few knockdowns.
