  • Comments Thread For: Oubaali vs. Donaire Tops December 12 Showtime Event

Once set to take place in the spring, Nordine Oubaali and Nonito Donaire will now help close the show. The bantamweight title fight which has been months in the making will headline the December 12 edition of Showtime Championship Boxing. The show is tentatively scheduled to air live from a crowdless Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut, though that dynamic could change depending on the status of the ongoing coronavirus delay which caused a months-long delay in the fight seeing the light of day.

Nice, but I would like to have seen Naoya get revenge for lil bro.

I like Nordine, but if the Flash that showed up against Inoue turns up I think he wins handily.

Wow! Handily? Oubaali is a pretty damn good fighter and Donaire did take a beating late in the Inoue fight. Very intriguing fight but don't see it one sided either way.

Nordine's a tidy fighter and I think he'll make every round competitive, quite possible even outland Donaire in raw volume, but the more hurtful and eye-catching work will come from Nonito IMO. Very happy to be proved wrong though, cos Nordine has really impressed in thd last few fights. and it'd be kinda nice to see France / North Africa back on boxing map.

Oubaali is just a stubborn little fella. I think he out works Donaire to a decision but obviously Donaire has the power to crack anyone's jaw at that weight class.

Now thinking about it, what the hell was he ever doing fighting guys like Walters??? Lol.

If Donaire had stayed at 118 and never moved up to 122 or 126 (that was insane), he would have gone down as the greatest bantamweight ever.

Rau'shee Warren, Arthur Villanueva, Takuma Inoue and Nonito Donaire is a outstanding list of names: Rau’shee Warren, Takuma Inoue were top ten, and Nonito is currently top five at 118.

I think Nordine Oubaali is underrated, even if he beats 'this version' of Donaire, Oubaali is still going to be unnoticed as a legitimate proven champion.
