Despite a shorter telecast and with far more entertaining bouts, the most edition of Top Rank Boxing on ESPN saw a ratings dip from its previous series installment. Thursday's four-fight card-topped by Jessie Magdaleno's 10th round disqualification win over Yenifel Vicente (34-6-2, 28KOs)-aired live on ESPN from MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, averaging 311,000 viewers over the course of the three-hour show, according to Nielsen Media Research. The telecast peaked at 392,000 viewers, which was fewer than the viewership average for Tuesday's show on the same network, which saw unbeaten featherweight titlist Shakur Stevenson make his 130-pound debut in a knockout win over Puerto Rico's Felix Caraballo.

What’s the advertising like for these shows? That’s terrible ratings. Might help to stop with these showcase fights

I actually think promotion has been trash to be honest. Most of these cards were out together within a month or so if I’m not mistaken.

Millions stuck at home, starved for entertainment and this is what we get. These numbers suck, considering the conditions. The reruns of the greats are better than these mismatches. They probably have better numbers too.

Most promotions are going to come out with underwhelming cards.

The Lopez vs Coria fight was really good though. Lopez never disappoints. Actually haven't caught the main event yet.

It was a good fight, but Lopez coming off a KO, and Coria losing to what's his name, and who, and TBA, made it competitive, and not high priced. Too bad they get such short money, even if it is low level competition. They carried the show.

Needs to be like Tuesday night fights, every Tuesday night, same time. No divergence.

Arum knows almost all the angles of the business of the sport but he is truly too old to understand the hat needs to be done for promotion in 2020. This isn’t the 70s, it’s not even the 90s anymore. He needs some new blood in his promotion WBO cane take Top Rank into the digital era
