The hype surrounding Canelo would take a dent imo if he doesn't knock/stop an ageing GG next time round should the fight happen.

His team and surroundings are doing a grand job at putting him as the face of boxing. Let's see if he can back it up over the next 5 or so years by fighting the best...

If anyone gets stopped then it will be Canelo. That being said, I dont see a stoppage happening.

Canelo fighting anyone at 160 again will be a detriment to him. Just ask Roy Jones after he came back down to 175, or Tarver after filming the Rocky movie, or Chris Byrd when he came down to cruiserweight, or Chad Dawson when he went down to super middleweight. Canelo has always had a history with conditioning in the championship rounds let alone coming back down in weight after a long hiatus from the ring. He’ll have to KO the old man early and don’t see that happening either.

Canelo should only make the fight if it happens at 168lbs. Going back down to 160 is just too dangerous for his body. If one looks at the history of fighters going back down in weight it never ends well. Make GGG go up to 168lbs, even if GGG is hesitant to do it going to 168lbs will likely help him as well.

If GGG is smart he will insist fight happens at 160. It is not his problem that Canelo fought Kovalev at 175.

GGG has got 15 million dollars for derevyanchenko fight. he doesn`t need Canelo desperately.
