  • Comments Thread For: Madrimov Drops Navarro Twice, Stops Him In Sixth Round

FRISCO, Texas Israil Madrimov moved one step closer toward a world title shot by winning just his fifth professional fight Saturday night. Uzbekistan's Madrimov battered Charlie Navarro before stopping him in the sixth round of their scheduled 10-round junior middleweight match on the Mikey Garcia-Jessie Vargas undercard. Referee Rafael Ramos stopped their fight at 2:24 of the sixth round, after the 25-year-old Madrimov dropped Navarro twice in that round at Ford Center at The Star, the Dallas Cowboys' training center.

It's a joke that this guy is a mandatory for the WBA fighting a journeyman that beat a undefeated nobody that won a second tier belt. Madrimov ranked number 3 fight the number 10 guy in a eliminator who fought nobody in the top 15 why didn't he just fight the number 4 guy or Michel Soro good fights.

Boxing politics. Navarro who? Pick an alphabet. Title fight, break a speed record, retire. Assembly line champs, but I guess it's how we live. 100 mph going nowhere.

            Madrimov is champion material.

One day, we are going to witness a historic first male/female boxer to win a World Class belt in their debut.

That would take Soro wanting to fight him. He was due an eliminator, Navarro the one that would actually fight him

Someone already had that chance in 1957 so it's not unheard of. Pete Rademacher was his name. If you have the amateur pedigree or in Pete's case Olympic gold winner then anything is possible if they're willing to give you a shot. And this guy has over 300 amateur fights and Uzbekistan are starting to dominate in the amateurs and coming in very hot to the pros as we saw with Murodjon Akhmadaliev
