  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: 50-50 Deal is Now Possible For Joshua vs. Wilder or Fury

Back in 2018, promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom was trying to secure two major opponents for the star fighter of his stable. WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, who Hearn promotes, is very eager to get in the ring with WBC heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder or undefeated lineal champion Tyson Fury.

except Joshua has to fulfil his IBF and WBO mandatories now.

Funny how you always make these offers when there's no chance of it happening.

    ****ing promoters

Joshua told him to make the fights happen. The promoter works for the fighter.

Right. It will be a year before the fights are possible.

I remember when flat purses were offered and posters said they were stupid not to take it.

lol it's hilarious that it's now come full circle and even after Wilder lost to Fury in the eyes of most, is now suddenly worthy of 50/50.

I was saying Wilder should've been offered 60/40 while AJ's fans were busy ignoring Eddie Hearn's own words and claiming the $50 million offer wasn't real. AJ should've taken it then, he declined the (real) offer and now he actually wants the fight so real offers are being made (although as others have pointed out, conveniently after Wilder has already agreed to 2 fights with Fury this year so this isn't happening until at least next december.

This is why Wilder "bets on himself".. so far it has paid off. He's gone from 10mill to 12.5mill to 120mill and now a 50/50 split.

Unifications DO trump mandatories so we'll see if they jump. My guess is no. Wilder and Fury are possibly fighting 2x and that leaves time for AJ to take care of business with Pulev and Usyk.

              Again, only time will tell.

Promoters say these things and then protect their fighter from these fights.

PLENTY of posters called Wilder a fool when he refused $12m

what % of people on the internet who say they know what they are talking about... actually know, what they are talking about?
