  • Comments Thread For: Alberto Machado Drills Luis Porozo, Wants Francisco Vargas

Alberto Machado returned to the scene of the crime to exorcise past demons. The former 130-pound titlist put behind the worst stretch of his career to end 2019 on a positive note, scoring a 2nd round knockout of Ecaudor's Luis Porozo in his lightweight debut Friday evening at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.

Machado needs to raise his aim a little. He's shooting for a guy on the downside, trying to make out like that gets PR back on the score board after dropping 2 to a Mexican underdog. He needs to erase that stain, but cherry picking won't do it.

Oh hell!!! Here we go with the pseudo Mexico vs Puerto Rico battle!!! Machado will want Salido out of retirement after this one, and Barrera as well. This is the kind of opposition Ricans face before actually facing the mexican cream of the crop....once they do thet get stopped easily or brutality beat. If he truly wants to test himself and have a decent and fair fight... he should call out the best from Mexico... how about Oscar Valdez, Leo Santacruz, or Miguel Berchelt!!!

yeah I hate when fighters ignore the best fighters available to them in favor of fighting a name who is clearly washed up. Then they pretend as if they did something great. Like when people were beating Roy Jones at the end of his career. Or like when Oscar beat an old Chavez and started doing gay pelvic thrusts in the ring to celebrate. Or Canelo pretending as if he was chasing greatness by ignoring 7 undefeated prime champions from 160-175 in favor of old ass damaged goods Kovalev on short rest. Smh

Puerto Rican Boxing is going through a very rough time. Tito Acosta was looking real good as a World Champion. He was battering Elwin Soto in his title defense then came the shot to the chin and he was out on his feet. It seems like Puerto Rican World Champions have trouble holding on to their World Titles these days.
