  • Comments Thread For: Fury's Trainer: Wilder's The Biggest Puncher In Boxing History

LAS VEGAS Deontay Wilder undoubtedly has established himself as one of the hardest-hitting knockout artists in boxing history. After watching Wilder knock out Luis Ortiz with one punch in the seventh round Saturday night, Ben Davison believes Wilder is the biggest puncher that has ever boxed. Tyson Fury's trainer told a group of reporters following Wilder's win at MGM Grand Garden Arena that Wilder doesn't have an equal in terms of raw power.

No doubt. People can mention the old timers and i can rebuttal them all, wilder is the most dangerous and powerful puncher of all time.

Tyson has trex arms so has to get in close to hurt you

Foreman is nowhere near as fast or as explosive as wilder, same with lennox and wlad.

Shavers doesn’t get the leverage in his punch that wilder does. Dua has a great left hook but again isn’t as quick + a straight right is a better weapon to have than a left hook

Fury's only chance of surviving is running and holding.

Amazing power from the first second until the two thousandth one hundred and sixtieth second.

And actually you could hurt him and it’s still there.

I can see both Ruiz and AJ hurting him badly and still getting laid out.

Stylistically Fury is the hardest guy for him to take out just because he takes away the right hand just with his dimensions, head movement and the fact he’s just never ever gonna be over his front foot walking onto anything. Wilder still sent him to the moon.

And what happened to Jackson when he met his match?

The thing that really separates Wilder’s power from someone like Foreman or Tyson or Louis or Shavers at HW and a few others is his 1 punch knock out power. With Foreman and Tyson, and Louis when you watch their fights; they had power to put you down and eventually out later on, but with follow up and finishing shots. And sometimes they did it in later rounds. But when you watch Wilder’s fights, most of the time, when Wilder hits people flush, they are down for a 10 count or out in the SAME ROUND. That is freakish power we probably haven’t seen before, if we are being honest, regardless if we like him or not.

Wilder is no doubt a great puncher but it's a matter of time that he gets exposed. Once he fights a guy that knows how to defend his right hand power by turning with the punch when hit and can take his punch then Wilder will lose his heavyweight championship. Holyfield, Lewis, Ali and Holmes are guys that would have weathered the Wilder storm and outbox him in the long run.

I am not impressed by a guy that gets outboxed for 6 rounds and ends it by the seventh round with a big right hand. What happens if the big right hand never landed.

Let's stop the nonsense!! With all due respect to former great punchers,We have NEVER in the history of boxing had a man knockout 40 grown men in the fashion Wilder has done. U have to be PERFECT every second of the fight to avoid being put to sleep!
