  • Comments Thread For: Fitzgerald-Fowler Rematch Heading To A Football Stadium?

British boxing promoters love nothing more than to stage a show in a football stadium. Muhammad Ali v Henry Cooper, Nigel Benn v Chris Eubank II, Lennox Lewis v Frank Bruno, Carl Froch v George Groves II, Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko and so on. It's a love affair and one that looks set to continue in 2020.

How does Fowler deserve a rematch? Let Fitz move on and Fowler vs Cheeseman could push either of those two towards a rematch.

Matchroom are a joke for Fitz.

No way this fight sells out a football stadium

The first was a great fight so I’m happy to see it again. I actually think Fowler will win if he boxes a little bit more sensibly.

Not sure it sells out Elland Road mind?!

          Deepdale holds 23,000+.

Fitzgerald is a solid ticket seller as is Fowler.

They could probably do 10,000 between them and then it depends on the strength of the card.

Be lucky to sell out the local leisure centre ( slight exaggeration but you know what I mean )

Lol what? Fowler is not a "solid ticket seller", majority of Liverpudlians wanted him to lose against Fitzgerald. Fitzy doesn't need Fowler at this point, as someone else said, Fowler-Cheeseman would be an interesting fight.

Jesus, it's far too soon for the rematch. It doesn't make any sense at all to do it again now

It was a great fight the first one but they need to go their own ways for a while

Can see fitz getting 5000 in preston, not sure about Fowler matching that . Think they could do ok combined tho.

Problem is getting big ticket sellers on the bill. It would have worked years ago in liverpool when they used to stack the cards with local ticket sellers, but i dont think theres that same group anymore in liverpool. Cant think of many guys from preston area they could put on if its held at deepdale
