  • Comments Thread For: Rakhimov Controversy Heats Up After Drugs Found in Hotel Room

South African boxing commission has threatened to ban Russian boxer Shavkat Rakhimov from ever coming to the country. This after a stash of drugs containing used and sealed bottles, pharmaceutical material including syringes, tubing and drips were found in his hotel room in East London, South Africa where he contested the IBF world junior lightweight title against local star Azinga Fuzile (15-1, 8 KOs) last weekend.

This just raised too many questions. So people saw him using bath salts during the fight but nobody intervened no ring officials , no doctors , no security ?? . Why aren’t these guys padded down once they enter the ring ? Now why wasn’t the fighter drug tested after the fight ??

Wow, this is horrible. And his manager claiming the drugs were his is NOT an excuse! He's the guy's manager for ****'s sake! If he had the drugs it's even worse because it means he was the provider and approved of his fighter taking banned substances. Fuzile may never be the same after that unexpected knockout and to be honest, it would make perfect sense that Rakhimov was juicing through a mask of smelling salts because he was tiring badly from Fuzile's body shots and evasive movement and all of a sudden he had a burst of energy and KO'd Fuzile. Because of the outcome and the fact that Fuzile was an undefeated fighter who was on his way to a victory and a title shot, Rakhimov should be banned for life for possibly ruining another boxers career and taking away his chance at world champion status and the financial freedom that would bring.

It sounds dodgy, using all of those substances for flu. They should investigate this.
