  • Comments Thread For: Commey-Beltran 6/28 ESPN Card Averages 490,000 Viewers

Richard Commey registered the first defense of his lightweight title along with perhaps his best win to date with his most recent ring performance. Unfortunately, it wasn't witnessed by nearly as many viewers as when he first won the title. The hard-hitting lightweight from Ghana was dominant in an 8th round stoppage of former titlist Raymundo Beltran atop the June 28 edition of Top Rank Boxing on ESPN. The show aired live from Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif., averaging 490,000 viewers over the course of the two-hour telecast, according to Nielsen Media Research.

ESPN will find a way to get out of that deal with Bob. Top Rank is dying slowly

Racist trolls will find a way to say something clever but there's no doubt that this doesn't bode well for Top Rank. Ol' Bob needs to do a better job with matchmaking and promoting otherwise we'll lose ESPN as a provider of boxing.

You notice how boxingscene always makes their headline for pbc cards with the peak number and includes Spanish broadcast and the streaming number to come up with the highest number possible yet for espn cards they put the average.

I wonder why that is? Just look at the article for Charlo Cota ratings for proof.

It's a miracle that half a million people watched that card. To me, it's a success! The production was nice also. I can do without Bradley.

Unlike other networks like Fox and Showtime - ESPN does not provide any info regarding the numbers for ESPN streams or ESPN+ streams. I think Arum was once quoted on another site "we will never release those numbers" when talking about app streams.

I watch all of my ESPN shows online through their website.

                    that was about espn+.

I’m talking about people streaming on their direct dish or cable etc app. They also didn’t include the espn Deportes figures but for the fox cards they always include fox Deportes and go by the peak and not the average.

This article doesn’t even mention the peak
