    Spanish veteran and former IBF super bantamweight champ Kiko Martinez (39-8-2) has relinquished the EBU featherweight title he won last year from Marc Vidal. As to why, well, word from Maravilla Box is there is quote a "very big fight in the US" waiting. More to come!

      It's going to be interesting who the EBU nominate to challenge for the vacant title. Conlan, Gill, Walsh, Malynovskyi & Parlagi should all be in the equation!

        That means he is fighting for a world title huh? Yeah I would guess Valdez is the opponent

          Most probably, only other possible opponent would be Gary Russell Jr as Martinez is ranked #5 by the WBC.

            Russell fought last May, so a couple of months for camp and it will be a year, give or take a few days. If this is a tune up, expect the big unification fight in 2020 or 2021.

              Such a shame he only fights once a year, he’s very talented but just so inactive.
              GRJ vs LSC needs to happen sooner rather than later, both men need to step up!
