  • Comments Thread For: Haye: Usyk Can't Get Hit Like That By Joshua; He Has Work To Do

David Haye is one of only two boxers that can offer a personal perspective on what it takes for a cruiserweight champion to move up and beat a huge heavyweight champion. The retired Haye's advice to Oleksandr Usyk would be to tighten up his defense. The former heavyweight and cruiserweight champ didn't consider defense an issue for Usyk until he watched Tony Bellew regularly land his right hand against the unbeaten Ukrainian on Saturday night in Manchester, England.

Usyk is a excellent fighter but Haye is of course right.A.J. hits him as Tony did it's night over....Wilder hits him like that could be carrrer over...only time will tell. Hearn said he's two fights from A.J. ,I think you'll find he's saying that has a A.J. win the truth is he may never be ready for AJ , Wilder and the boys.

Glowacki,Huck,Hunter,Briedis,Gassiev & Bellew are somebodies. A Hypejob doesn't win Olympic Gold and becomes Undisputed World Champ in just 15 pro fights. Then Holyfield was also a Hypejob in your opinion.

Usyk knows whats coming back from Joshua. Bellew doesn't hit as hard as Joshua.

Im pretty sure Usyk wouldn't walk AJ down like he did Bellew. He would try to outbox Joshua, so it's an entirely different situation and he wouldn't get hit as much.

Exactly. He would fight Joshua a similar way like against Gassiev.

Agree with the Hayemaker. Tony was up by 3 rounds on one card ffs. We all thought Usyk would streak ahead but he looked unsure about how to handle Tony and he was quite inaccurate when he threw his hands. The oracle of all things that is Compubox had Usyk landing 1 in 4 of his punches. Knowing compubox's habit of scoring misses, then that probably falls to 20% landed. He could rematch Joe Joyce at HW. Just get right in there.
