Gathering supplies to make the trip with an 8-month-old son. Enduring the "it seemed like a good idea, cost-wise" drive from arrival in Center City Philadelphia to accommodations two states away in New York. And in early November, when autumn temperatures had dipped to levels no longer tolerable...

The Manfredo stoppage was pretty ridiculous, but I enjoyed his performances in the Hopkins & Jones Jr fights.

Foch was particularly bitter when he quit.

Warren should have sent him Stateside earlier the money was still in the US then and he had all the skills, can't blame Joe for that Warren sued him when he went (as usual).

Warren tried. Calzaghe refused to fight abroad, said he was afraid of flying. Soon got over that fear when he saw the opportunity to cherry pick aged fighters.

I also believe that early on Joe was over protected behind the WBO bauble, but sure as hell proved himself in later years. Hindsight is a great thing & at the time I wanted to see him unify & entertain the World on a global level, but then again that's what you get with "Fi$h £yed" Frank Warren!

Sorry Calzaghe career not HOF worthy..........

Beating a past prime Hopkins which probable was a draw and almost getting stopped in first round by a badly faded Roy Jones and beating and undersized overrated Jeff Lacy doesn't qualify as HOF. I think he was a good fighter however HOF is a huge stretch when you look at overall caliber in the HOF. It's not who you fight but when you fight them and he had many years to make some good fights which he decided to wait till guides were past their prime and that's by Calzaghe's own admission.

Then you can make the same exact case against Mayweather considering he fought Gatti who was past his prime Hatton undersized 140lb Judah who hadn't beaten anyone of note at 147 and a journeyman in Baldomir and a washed up De La Hoya who he barely won against and he was past his prime also.
