  • Comments Thread For: Gamboa Beats Beltran; Expects JuanMa Fight In 'March or April'

One of the fights fans most wanted to see in 2010 apparently will happen nine years later. Yuriorkis Gamboa said Saturday night that he'll finally fight Juan Manuel Lopez in March or April now that they've both won lightweight tune-up fights in Miami. Cuba's Gamboa was busier and better than Miguel Beltran Jr. throughout their 10-round bout, the main event Saturday night at Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo.

Both fighters need this fight. It might be 8 years overdue, but better late than never, right?

I remember at one point this was my most anticipated fight because mayweather vs pacquiao kept having issues.

But o well it’s here now I guess lol.

Yeah they were the two huge prospects for p4p top spots along with Juan diaz berto and kellie pavlik. I would of been convinced back then atleast one of them would become a hall of famer

Honestly, Gamboa looks the same. I think his main problem is he's not as effective at 135lbs, but I don't foresee that being a huge issue against Juanma.

Yeah. We didn't get it when we wanted it, when it would have meant something.

Thanks to Bob Arum. Like the article says he marinated it into irrelevance.

He's done that with so many fights. It'll be a good day in boxing when he dies because he's definitely not stepping down.
