Former world champion Carlos Cuadras resumed his winning ways in Los Mochis, against a tough opponent like Ricardo Nunez of Panama. Cuadras, who lost his last two bouts by decision to McWilliams Arroyo and Juan Francisco Estrada, won a seven round technical decision. The Mexican veteran suffered two cuts after accidental headbutts caused bleeding on both eyebrows, so the contest was stopped and the scores favored him by 68-63, 68-63 and 69-63 to get the WBC international bantamweight title at the Multiple Use Center.
