The first bout, which took place in November of 2016, saw Kovalev lose a close twelve round unanimous decision to Ward. The rematch, which took place in June of 2017, saw Ward stop Kovalev.

Kovalev and Jackson had a non-functioning relationship, at least going into the rematch. Whether Jackson was simply fed up with Kovalev not listening to him, I don't know, but he was definitely useless.

Seemed to work well in the first fight or maybe that was all Kovalev? Jackson basically admitting to stealing from Kovalev though after that fight gossiping like a little girl, not really training and not being a good enough disciplinarian to put his foot down and speak up. Maybe he was scared he'd get booted out of the camp.

There are other boxers that share the same sentiment on JDJ and ive seen it with my own eyes. When lemieux KO'd curtis stevens i seen JDJ walking around the casino after the fight and I was thinking in my head your fighter just got KO'd brutally why arent you up at the hospital with him?? He seems to be one of these trainers that is strictly in it for the money
