  • Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez Says Fans 'Hypocritical' on Guys Like Alex Saucedo

So what were veteran trainer Abel Sanchez's thoughts on Alex Saucedo's bloody and violent seventh round stoppage of Lenny Zappavigna this past weekend? The ESPN televised co-feature was by far the shining star of the entire event.

Abel is a Clown. He wants Saucedo to move and use his feet but he wants Canelo to just stand there and "allow himself to get knocked out"

"Obviously, I don't want him to take shots like that but like I said, Arturo Gatti was made a hero because of that and had a legendary career. If Alex can have that kind of career with less punishment I would love it But unfortunately those styles mean you're going to get hit."- Abel Sanchez

      September 26, 2011:

But the bars and gyms of New Jersey made Arturo (Thunder) Gatti, and it's there the carefree Montreal story turns into something darker and more complicated.

In New Jersey, Mr. Gatti learned how to throw a punch like a pro and, more importantly, how to take a thousand of them and stay on his feet, mostly. It was in the Garden State he discovered painkillers and cocaine and hit booze with abandon, chasing women as if only they and the intoxicants could dull his physical and mental torment.

Each person who knew Mr. Gatti seems locked into contradictory versions of truth, but three weeks of court testimony, a private investigation, a meticulously researched book and a series of interviews make this much certain: Arturo Gatti was wrecked by a combination of booze, toxic relationships with women, too many blows to the head and an inability to face life.

I don't know if Alex Saucedo wants to be the next Arturo Gatti? That didn't work out too well! And for the record, Mayweather vs. Gatti...how did that work out for Gatti?

the only clowns are fans fishing for a reason to defend Canelo. There is literally nothing in this article where he says that he wants Saucedo to "move and use his feet" he says he'd like to see improved defense but won't change the fact that he's an aggressive fighter that likes to go to war. Perhaps reading first before jumping to the defense of Canelo would be best.

LOL...all these morons and imbeciles who probably have never been in a ring and dare I say at a live event calling Sanchez names. You sound like fat ass school girls whining about the boy who dumped all of you. Grow up.

Good interview. I hope Saucedo will try to be a bit more responsible defensively. While that fight was fun to watch, he didn't need to take that much punishment. He can be a warrior, but still add subtle defensive skillset to his game.

If he fights like that, he can end up like Roman Gonzalez.

Had Saucedo been anything other than the home town favorite, most refs would have stopped the fight in that round.

He took some serious and relentless pounding in that 4th.

He needs to tighten things up FAST or he is going to have a very short shelf life.
