  • Comments Thread For: Joel Diaz Warns That Matthysse Could Drill Pacquiao, Retire Him

Trainer Joel Diaz has warned that his hard punching boxer, WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse, could very well do some knockout damage on Manny Pacquiao. The eight division champion will challenge Matthysse on July 14th at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I think that possibility is why this fight's compelling - in recent Pacquiao fights a knockout either way hasn't really materialised but here it's a high possibility.

Matthysse also might get drilled in an eye. Postol, Garcia and Corley all gave him eye problems.

What is cool though, is I was watching an interview yesterday. They asked Austin Trout who hit him the hardest in his career. Trout responded Lucas Matthysse in sparring.

I think this fight is all wrong for Pac
I think his time has come , not really concerned about boxing as he is politics
Then dropped Roach ( not that it’s a bad thing , been asking for years why he’s still with him ) but didn’t get a real replacement
Not sure how Buboy is gonna do , but we all know PAC is pretty stubborn when it comes to training
If Lucas does have these heavy hands I think Pac is in big trouble

So Pac is not 147 fighter thats true, but Matthysse even got beat at 140 so what Joel diaz is talking about???
Matthysse is over the hill as well just check his las 2-3 fights and compare to Pac last 2-3 fights and here we go.
Yes he has a chance but will see...

The same could be said to matthyse. If both show up at their elderly best pac should beat matthyse easily

The real question is, will the winner face a healthy Kieth Thurman?

Forget what PAC brings, Golden Boy will take yet another L.
