  • Comments Thread For: Jose Ramirez-Danny O'Connor Nearly Done for July 7 in Fresno

Jose Ramirez's first title defense shouldn't be nearly as difficult as expected. When Ramirez beat Amir Imam to win the then-vacant WBC super lightweight title, he was supposed to defend it against the WBC's interim champion, Regis Prograis, in his following fight. Prograis instead has agreed to participate in the World Boxing Super Series' 140-pound tournament, which will leave Ramirez to face a less imposing opponent.

          LMAOO

this is pathetic, typical putrid Top Rank matchmaking. O'Connor's not even ranked in the top 15 by the WBC. Bet Ramirez is gonna fight Mike Alvarado after this guy

Just ordered Ramirez a coffee cup.

What low down above ground in open air f#ggotry by Ramirez & his team here & from the start.

The most f#cked up part of this "tournament" was we knew within 24hrs of Ramirez winning his fight this tournament wouldn't likely end with the fight it was scheduled to end with.

Hope Danny knocks him the f#ck out for karmic purposes. Walk it like you talked it yesterday at f#cking least. I can understand how things can change over months or years, but these mfers entered a mini tournament that they probably had no intention of finishing.

Well, it could also "leave him to face" Prograis, but in the tournament, right?
He isn't fighting in the tournament just like Arum didn't allow Zurdo to join the SMW tournament.

Why dont you read the article stupid ****! Regi bailed on his shot like that fraud ass coward Callum Smith did at 168, joining the WBSS.

Tournament or not, Arum didn’t want the fight.

I remember after Prograis flattened Indongo, he said he and Ramirez should have interim bouts before facing each other.
