  • Comments Thread For: Is Erislandy Lara Hurting The 154-Pound Division?

By Andreas Hale - The 154 pound division has become extremely interesting over the past few years with the influx of young and exciting talent that includes Jarrett Hurd, Jermell Charlo, Sadam Ali, Brian Castano, Michel Sort, Maciej Sulecki and others. But there's one man who sits atop the division who is standing in the way of excitement and could potentially spoil all of the fun for years to come...

Lara will dominate early with his favorite left punch but the long jab & straight long right hand from Hurd will break him down for a late stoppage.

this is how I see it.....

are they good enough to beat him, or not ?

if not..... then who cares what else they were/were not, able to do

      same with Hurd

if he aint good enough to beat Lara, I don't want to hear him crying afterwards because he thought the fight was boring..... like Lemieux did with Saunders

Body of Text: It’s not to say that Lara is bad for the sport, but when trying to bring new fans to boxing, the last thing you want to do is show them an Erislandy Lara fight. But his superb ability has had him as a staple in the 154 pound division for a half decade.
        Contradiction 101 right here.

Another dogsh.it article by Andreas Hale

I knew from the title that it was written by him

Lara’s the man at 154 and if boxing was a fair sport he’d be undefeated.

He’s a winner and in sports that’s all that matters l. Were the SAN Antonio Spurs bad for basketball when they were winning their championships? . Were the New Jersey devils bad for hockey when they kept winning Stanley cups ? No they weren’t.

The point of sports is to win , anything extra like entertainment is extra.

Hale claims Lara doesn’t bring in new fans so what 95% of boxers don’t increase the sports profile even if they are exciting or have a personality

He said the fighters he lost too weren’t interested in a rematch yeah no sh.it because the fighters and their team know they lost and a rematch would probably be the same even if they got a undeserved decision

He also said Lara wouldn’t face Charlo when Lara already stated he would if he wins.

Lara holds the crown until someone can take it and being a long reigning champion isn’t bad for the sport no matter how much people don’t like his style

This is the dumbest article I've ever read on here. Just because lara is there doesn't mean the rest of the 154 lbers can't fight each other

              WTF?

If Lara can't be beaten then he isn't hurting anything, he's earned his spot as the top dog.

It's up to the other boxers to get better and become good enough to beat him.
