  • Comments Thread For: Gavern: Anthony Joshua Hits Harder, Beats Deontay Wilder

The world awaits for world champions Deontay Wilder (39-0, 38KOs) and Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20KOs) to eventually make plans for a mega heavyweight fight in the future. That showdown has become boxing's "it" fight, much like Mayweather-Pacquiao and Canelo-GGG. Joshua and Wilder have common opponents on their unbeaten records, and of those opponents is heavyweight trial horse Jason Gavern.

well who else to ask who hits harder than a guy who has fought both and got sparked by joshua in his 11th fight and wilder in his 32nd fight..there you have it folks..his assessment won't matter but joshua still knocks wilder out when they fight

Molina fight showed everything.Look at Wilder v Molina then AJ v Molina that is how the fight will go.

You could tell in the Gavern fight he didn't respect Wilder's power very much. After the first knock down he whooped and then went right at Wilder like he hadn't even been dropped. In one round Wilder hit him cleanly and Gavern just turned to talk to a camera man lol.

But in the Joshua fight once he tasted AJ's power he just went into the shell and went into survival mode. So not surprised he says Joshua hits harder.

Yeah that fight as well showed the difference in power too. Wilder hit Molina a lot and he was able to stay in there until Wilder finally broke him down.

Molina said that he could see what Wilder was going to do a lot of the time, that he telegraphed everything.

But against Joshua he said he couldn't anticipate anything, everything was so well disguised and its the punches that you don't see that have the greatest effect.

Joshua knocking down Breazeale with a jab AND another knock down just on hitting his gloves by the sheer force shouldve told everyone who hits harder .

Does anyone really think Wilder could do that ?

I think the fact that AJ throws straight punches and Wilder throws windmills while off balance will be what determines the outcome of this fight. Watch the Stiverne KO again and you'll see Wilders feet are actually in the air when he throws his final couple of punches. When (not If) he does that against Joshua it will look like something out of a cartoon when Joshua lands a straight shot on his chin. - Don't be surprised if the force sends Wilders head to the canvas but his stick legs into the air and one of his feet catch AJ's chin resulting in a double knockout.

Josua is simply the sharper puncher. Even if he didn't hit harder his accuracy and speed will hurt any HW

Thats why I found it funny when Wilder's 50 or so fans claim AJ is scared of him.
