  • Comments Thread For: Kovalev Says Ward Too Difficult To Beat With Officials on His SIde

Former world champion Sergey Kovalev will not insist on a third fight with IBF, WBO, WBA light heavyweight king Andre Ward. Two weeks ago at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Ward stopped Kovalev in the eight round to retain his three world titles. After the contest, Kovalev complained that the contest was stopped early by referee Tony Weeks, and also blasted the official for failing to warn Ward for landing low blows to end the fight.

          LOL

Ward didn't need the officials, Jay Z,or Beyonce to win the fight.

Legal punches like the ones in my sig were all that was required to break Kovalev down.

Most rational boxing fans years from now after both are retired will agree with Kovalev. Ward with his asterisks blew his biggest chances of enhancing his legacy.

fact of the matter is the first fight was a robbery and the second one was ended by a punch to the balls. people on here looking into their crystal balls saying 'ward would have stopped him anyway' doesnt change that. if you tune into an andre ward fight you know what you are getting, fouls, pre filled in scorecards and corrupt refs.

The guy who would rabbit punch, did most of the holding to avoid inside fighting and faked clean body shots. It's crazy how Kovalev was celebrated as such a bad ass and you see these elements of soft.
