  • Comments Thread For: WBC Prez: Boxing Was The Real Loser in Canelo-Chavez Fight

According to World Boxing Council (WBC) president Mauricio Sulaiman, boxing was the real loser last Saturday night, because of the poor performance of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in his long awaited showdown with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. There were years of hype between the two Mexican rivals. A contest between them seemed impossible, because they were separated by several weight divisions.

Good to hear him talking about this. Everybody else are busy jerking off to the Canelo-GGG fight announcement they aren't talking about how bad for boxing that fight was. That announcement shouldn't take away from the fact that that fight hurt the sport. That fight was hyped heavily. That will probably be Canelo's highest PPV since he fought Mayeather. Do y'all think casual fans stuck around for that announcement? People were leaving and not paying attention after 8 or so rounds when it was apparent Chavez Jr wasn't trying and Canelo couldn't hurt him enough to stop him. But the GGG-CANELO fight was announced so everything is forgiven

Man, it looks like Chavez is going to get the "No Mas" type fallout that Duran got after his outing against Leonard.

Didn't we know Chavez Jr has no heart or skill? This was proven already. They sold people a dud and made tons of money. They did it three times in a row actually.

This snake is talking **** about the fight because he had no financial gain from it. If the gay ass custom made WBC title was on the line he'd be either quiet or protecting the fight right now.

he's right you idiot the fight was total ****. its up there as one of the worst main event of a ppv ever. it deserves to be called out as such, and you don't know what he would have said if the wbc belt was on the line.
