  • Comments Thread For: Flanagan's Manager Eager To Start Talks For Lomachenko Fight

Steve Wood, the manager of WBO lightweight champion Terry Flanagan (33-0, 13 KOs), is ready to begin negotiations for a showdown with WBO super featherweight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko (8-1, 6 KOs). Two weeks ago, both boxers were in action with defenses of their world titles. Flanagan retained his title for a fifth time with a twelve round unanimous decision over Petr Petrov in Manchester, and Lomachenko battered Jason Sosa for a ninth round stoppage in Washington, DC.

Loma has too much work left to do at 130 plus a rematch to avenge his loss to salido. If he jumps up to 135 to fight the worst belt holder he straight up ducking. Either fight salido or one of the better guys at 130 or fight the cream of the crop at 135 which is Garcia/Linares. Cherry picking bum Flanagan is lame when you have unfinished business at 130.

Taking Flanagan's belt makes the big fight at 135 unification bouts, which take precedence over mandatory defences.

There is nothing left at 130; Corrales said no, Mayweather has already said Davis won't be fighting Lomachenko, that's why he had to fight Sosa. The only thing there is a Salido rematch, which is only good for righting the first fight.

Flanagan is a paper champ only reason he even has a belt is because the true champ Crawford moved to 140 so he got a bogus vacant belt he didn't earn and has kept the belt hostage since. He will get beat by any top 135lber. There are better fighters then flanagan that Loma hasn't fought yet at 130. If top rank is too cheap and doesn't want to pay them then Loma needs to complain because that's what's stopping him from making a rematch to avenge Salido loss and fighting the top guys at 130 which is loaded right now. So you leave from a loaded division which you haven't cleaned up to fight a cherry pick euro bum at 135? Nobody cares if him fighting Linares or Garcia is a unification those are the only worthy fights if he jumps to 135 no need to waste time on paper belt first. Will this guy ever clean out a division? Didn't do it at 126 or 130. SMH

              Stop it.

He left 126 because they wouldn't fight him. He's having the same problem at 130, Mayweather is on record saying Davis won't fight him, Corrales said no already. The only fight that's money related is Salido who is asking for unrealistic money for a guy who isn't a draw and hasn't won a fight in years.

'Cleaning out a division' is a waste of time if better opponents are a division above. Salido/Flanagan next, the unifications at 135 to follow.

Lol, just realised Verdejo will go from being mandatory to Flanagan to Lomachenko, that's gotta suck.

Do you think Arum would throw Verdejo in with Loma

Unless you are living under a rock, you would be aware that no belt holder at 130 wants to fight Loma. and that's why he wants to move up. Stop showing your foolishness in the forum.
