  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Coach: Jacobs Rematch is 3 or 4 Fights Down The Line

According to Abel Sanchez, trainer of IBF, WBC, WBA, IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs), a rematch with Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) is not going to happen any time soon. Last month at New York's Madison Square Garden, Golovkin won a close twelve round unanimous decision over Jacobs. The scores were 114-113, 115-112, 115-112.

he can get to the back of the line now. jacobs needs to beat canelo, charlo, saunders, eubank... then golovkin can consider giving him his rematch... maybe

once again, the subject of breaking Hopkins record always seems to surface

it is obviously their underlying MO

they will not fight Canelo in September

and Sanchez' excuse for not rematching Jacobs for 3-4 fights (MAYBE)..... "our future is kind of mapped out"..... when they will not even sign the contract to fight Canelo, is weak AF

I told everyone, no Saunders, no Canelo, no Jacobs rematch..... not until they break Hopkins record

He tells us "Saunders, then 168". But now it's Canelo then record attempt. And, somehow we've got this Canelo, then record, then Ramirez, then a couple other fights, THEN Jacobs??

Just cut the BS and say you guys have no intention of rematching Jacobs. It's more believable and honest than saying "5 or 6 fights down the road."

honestly there's no urgency to rematch him rn
it's normal they prefer opponent who bring more money, he's 35 years old already
