Good for him, interested to catch the performance later. He's another name to throw into a deep mix at 130. Time to start putting him in with top 25 guys, maybe Velez after he fights Gamboa, or the dude Gamboa just fought. At least guys like Luis Franco or Braulio Rodriguez. Interesting part was how much trash the mexican was slinging in the lead up to the fight. Martinez had every excuse in the book for the loss to Verdejo and claimed he had trained harder than ever in his career for redemption against another Puerto Rican prospect. He also has a respectable record against decent opposition. Well, he'd better come up with some new excuses after getting absolutely embarrassed in less than a round. Don't know if Machado is championship material yet but he sure looked impressive as hell Saturday night.
