Bernard Hopkins obviously wasn't pleased with how his final fight ended Saturday night. That didn't change his mind, at least in the immediate aftermath of his technical knockout loss to Joe Smith Jr., about it being his last fight. Long Island's Smith (23-1, 19 KOs) knocked Hopkins out of the ring in the eighth round of their scheduled 12-round, light-heavyweight fight and became the first opponent in Hopkins' 28-year professional career to beat Hopkins by knockout.

Glad he's retiring. It's time for him to instill his knowledge of the sweet science to the younger generation.

He's a solid commentator for HBO, and now he needs to become more of a promoter for Golden Boy Promotions.

First ballot hall of Famer and one of the best Middleweights of All Time.

He could have done this after the Kovalev fight with his head held up high. Now he has to settle with this utter embarrassment while losing his claim of never being stopped. Sad exit.
