They handled Canelo's ducking poorly, Luis Ortiz left and they weren't able to get a decent opponent for Lemieux's next fight. So maybe change at the top not a bad idea.

I'll say even if you didn't like the man you had to respect and enjoy the sheer number of events and exposure that Shaefer provided for the company. Even if they werent all GBP fighters as the promoter they were still bringing in the money. They company was a powerhouse arguably # 1 promoter in the business at that time. Now its a shell of it former self with all hopes resting on Canelo fighting 2-3 times a year. Things are not looking good. Haymon won't work with you do to your lawsuit. Arum, doesn't respect you, nor will he work with you. Its not looking good at all.

          The Fall Guy

I really think he's the fall guy for Canelos standing in the sport falling so dramatically in little under a year.

Pretty sure Gomez has been the main boxing point man since the Schaeffer split. So this is more like formalizing what was already going on rather than making a change.

                  Everythings going according to plan.
Gomez is secretly in cahoots with haymon and gonna have him steal the rest of the fighters.

Smart move promoting Gomez. He's a smart guy who actually has good relationships with other promoters as well as Robert Diaz.

Oscar needs to delegate more and needs to find more ways to get his fighters the proper fights and exposure.

This year compared to the previous 2 has been a let down.

They have too much young talent and talent in general to just to mainly have 2 headline fighters in Canelo and Francisco Vargas.

The development of Ring TV Live has helped getting his prospects more exposure but he needs to find a better platform for those who are ready to become contenders.
