  • Comments Thread For: Takuma Inoue in Line For Marlon Tapales Title Clash on 12/30

Japan's Takuma Inoue came off the canvas in the opening round of a furious ten round battle in which he decked Filipino Froilan "The Sniper" Saludar twice, in rounds eight and nine to earn a crack at WBO bantamweight champion Marlon "The Nightmare" Tapales at the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on December 30.

That is great news, Takuma looked really impressive today despite the knockdown which was just a fluke imo, id say Takuma is about equally skilled as Naoya just he doesnt have the same power or bodypunching, he does however have a better defense then Naoya imo
This fight will be great cause Marlon Tapales has looked impressive with his last 2 victiories and Takuma doesnt have as much experience in the pro game, however id still favor Takuma since he is a very special talent

What the fck.. I thought Luis Nery and Tapales were already in talks. I would have loved to see Nery get the shot first and then beats Inoue down.

Ye ok it was a fine right hand he landed, either way, the Saludar brothers are no joke, theve got estensive amateur experience + he had more pro exp then Inoue, also Froilan had a big reach advantage over Takuma, and seeing since it was in round one and that Takuma made adjustments after it id say it was just a fluke/him being careless
