ESPN's Marcellus Wiley was ringside for this past Saturday's HBO Pay-Per-View.

Canelo Alvarez beat Miguel Cotto on a unanimous points decision to win the WBC world middleweight title in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Alvarez, the pre-fight favourite, lived up to his billing with a powerful display at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, and took his career record to 46-1-1, with 32 KOs.

The fight was way closer than the scorecards but man Cotto did not win that fight. I had it 8-4 and you can argue it was 7-5 but Canelo won. Giving Canelo 11 rounds was however ridiculous.

This is almost as bad as Pacquiao fans still trying to convince people he beat Floyd when he obviously didn't, it wasn't even close.

This fight was a bit closer at times but after 12 it was quite clear Canelo won the majority of the rounds.
